A group of CVS customers sued CVS Pharmacy and Criteo, an advertising technology company, over what happened while people browsed cvs.com, cvshealth.com and the CVS app. The lawsuit says code embedded in those sites and the app passed information about visitors to Criteo and other outside companies, and that some of what was shared touched on health, not just shopping.
CVS and Criteo deny doing anything against the law. The court has not decided who is right, and it has not found that either company broke any rule. Both sides agreed to settle instead of carrying on, which is common and is not an admission.
The case is Brewer v. CVS Pharmacy, Inc. and Criteo Corp., heard in the Circuit Court for the 17th Judicial Circuit in Broward County, Florida.

CVS and Criteo have agreed to make up to $20.5 million available. That money pays the lawyers' fees and costs the court approves, payments to the four people who brought the case, and the cost of running the settlement. What is left is divided among everyone who files a valid claim.
The deadline to file is November 14, 2026. Anyone who wanted to remove themselves from the settlement, or to write to the court objecting to it, had to do so by November 1, 2026.
A judge will decide whether to approve the settlement at a hearing on December 1, 2026. Eligible payments go out after that approval, and after any appeals are finished, so there is usually a wait.

The group covered by this settlement is every living person who used a CVS digital property while in the United States before July 27, 2026. CVS digital properties means cvs.com, cvshealth.com and the CVS mobile app.
You did not have to buy anything, and you did not have to have a CVS account. Visiting one of those sites or opening the app in that period is what counts.
The claim form asks you to confirm all of this under penalty of perjury, which is what a claim form means when it talks about an attestation. You are signing your name to say it is true. Claims can be audited against company records, and a false one can be cut back or thrown out, so only confirm what you know is accurate.
